Descriptive Board
“Habita +” is a production of ARCHMOBIL + WORKSHOP, a small design office created by Victor Sanchez, Beatriz Mora and myself. In this case, “Habita +”, was the proposal for the 1st Edition of CMIC Emprende contest, dedicated to the innovation of new technologies and construction systems. “Habita +” seeks a new and better life for a forgotten sector of the mexican society, the poorest people of my country, those who can’t even pay for a house with their social credit. So we decided to create a new typology of living housing, education, medical facilities and emergency shelters in case of natural disasters. The idea was that the product could be ordered by internet or directly with an official seller, where the client could order it with certain preferences, like materials that would change depending the geographical location for a better microclimate, number of rooms, etc. The transportation would be by trailers, boats or even by helicopters in case of an emergency. We managed to fit the unit module into a relatively small box that helps with the transportation because in this way, 12 boxes fit over a 40’ container. The unit module can be settled and built very easily with just two assistants, thats why “Habita +” is a modest but complete solution for fast construction facilities, specially for shelters
